Just trying this theme on for size. Needs some tinkering, but I think I like it.. your opinions? Obviously I’ll need to change the banner graphic up above…
Wheel Bugs (Assassin Bugs)
We have a bug problem at our house right now.
We live in a fairly wooded neighborhood.
Who am I kidding… We live in a woods. Even the name of my street has “Woodland” in it.
Anyway, the picture over here looks harmless enough, but they are creepy ass bugs. The picture I have here is just a nymph, kind of like a pre-teen version of the bug, not quite as creepy looking as the ones I have walking around at my house right now on the deck. The bastards even have the balls to hang out on my gnomes. You know, now that I mention it, I’ve never talked about my love of yard gnomes, that’s for another blog post I think.
Back to the bugs. I finally did a little research to figure out what they were today and I’m officially creeped out, but now I know what yet another bug is in my yard, it’s the adult version of this bastard:
From what I read, these guys can bite if you piss them off, and I am assuming they are quick to anger as I was trying to get a picture of it and it stood up on it’s hind legs and showed me it’s nasty little poker thing.
Anyway… Now my skin is all creepy crawley. I don’t think the pictures do it justice as for how disturbing these bugs are. To call them prehistoric is a pretty good description.

I don’t know if anyone’s ever seen this website, but this guy travels all over the world and records himself doing this goofy ass dance. I don’t really know what it is about the videos, but they always seem to make me feel good. I don’t know if it’s the music, or if it’s the goofy ass dance or what it is.. I’m Officially Biker Trash
I got a Harley.
This is a pretty significant upgrade from my old bike, not that my old bike was a bad ride, at all, I really enjoyed my old bike.
Previously I had a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit. It had a 750cc engine and a really comfy seat. It was a GREAT first bike. I would have never sold it if I didn’t get a “deal I couldn’t refuse” on this one.
The new bike is a 2001 H-D Dyna Super Glide Sport. It has a 1450cc (88cu in) engine. It’s a blast to ride. The difference between this bike and my old bike is like comparing riding a moped to a motorcycle. Not that my old MC was underpowered, I don’t think that at all, it’s that this one is just THAT much more powerful. The first time I rode it, I wasn’t used to it at all and damn near fell off the back of it going from 2nd to 3rd. That seems to be where the bulk of the power lies on this bad boy.
Oh yeah, it’s also just a little louder than my old bike.. Just a little…
The seat leaves little to be desired however. It’s wafer thin and I’m a fat ass. after about 40 miles my ass falls asleep and it’s not that great. That can be fixed. I’m looking at a new seat today actually. Hopefully it’s better and doesn’t look crappy on my bike.
I’ve yet to get the wife on the back of it. We just haven’t had time to ride and the weather has been shitty around here… to say the least.
Anyway, I’ll post some more pics. Currently the bike is in the shop. Its getting new tires on it and I just don’t have the tools to do that myself.
Well, i’m outta here, off to look at a new seat for the bike before i go grab the kids.

Houston, we have a problem
Ugh.
I can’t post images properly now. DAMN IT. I upgraded wordpress a while back and now it’s throwing errors when I try to publish an image of any specific size.
I’ll get to work on that.
