I just came across this panoramic of an Airbus A310 cockpit. Pretty cool. I’d be confused. I wonder if it gets the internet.

No, not Porno pics.. Panoramic pics. Although I do enjoy the porn.

I have a weird fascination with Panoramic Pictures. I really like taking them and I really like to try to make them look good and work out right.

Here recently I have started using a program called Hugin. With it, in conjunction with a program called autopano-sift you can really make some nice Panoramic pictures with these programs. Best of all they are FREE!

One of the cooler and more complex features of Hugin is that you can actually enter the information about your lens on your camera so it can correct for certain features/imperfections to a specific lens. They have a pretty large database of pre-defined lenses to choose from, but if you cant’ find your camera’s make/model you can enter the information into it

I had been avoiding taking pano pictures for some time because the tools I had sucked. I was using some clunky software that I got with one of my old digital cameras. I had seen the Hugin software before, but it was definitely not nearly as good as it is now.

There are also a number of Flickr Panoramic groups out there that I’m just now starting to explore. I haven’t done any of the 360 panoramic pictures, but am thinking about trying it. I really need to get a decent tripod to do some of the more complicated stuff. Doing it by hand just doesn’t work out quite right, I tend to skew my hand a little and it throws off the pictures.

Anyway, I have a few here on my computer that I was going to throw up here to check out. I have more but not on this computer here. I have a number of other images I want to stitch together. I just need to find the time.

I took this while doing the Replay gig at the Purdue vs OSU . This was during half time. Click to make it full size.

Unfortunately all I have here are pics from the football game. I gotta get off my ass and make more.

I’ll try to post more as I make them.
