Well It’s Christmas time
Man I suck at doing updates…
So it’s Christmas time…. Here’s something to set the mood..
This is the time of year where I start thinking about shopping for my wife at the start of December, but can’t settle on anything because I want it to be "special" or whatever. Then approx. 1 week before Christmas I panic, run out to the mall with all the other men that wait till the last minute and buy random crap, then I panic 2 days before Christmas Eve because I haven’t wrapped the damn things yet.
The sad thing is, I actually try to pick something special out, but I’m incapable of making a well thought out purchase most of the time. It’s either impulse buys or I stress over it for a freakin month before I pull the trigger.
Here’s a perfect example actually. I’ve needed a new pair of shoes for a few months now, yet I couldn’t actually pull the trigger on buying a pair. What’s that cost? $90 tops? But I just didn’t want to spend the money on them. Yet I’ve been wanting a new TV for a while too… Do we need a new TV? Absolutely not. The TV we have works just fine, granted, it’s absolutely HUGE (rear projection 55 inch HD) and has a few problems (screen burn-in, to name one) and dominates the living room (it’s 28 inches deep) but otherwise it works just fine…
So we head out shopping the day after Thanksgiving early in the morning, and what do I come home with? A brand new LCD TV. Barely thought about it.. just BAM.. bought it. How is it I can impulse buy something that costs damn near $1700 but I have to spend 3 months thinking about buying a pair of shoes?
By the way, I love the new TV, it’s freaking FANTASTIC and really made a difference in the living room. The picture is fantastic and needless to say, I’m quite happy with it. I did go out and buy a new pair of shoes finally on Monday. It took me 2 hours to pick them out and they make my feet hurt. Yay me.
For anyone that’s curious, here’s the TV I got: Sharp Aquos 46 Inch LCD 1080p HDTV (LC-46D64U)
