…as patriotic things go, this is cool.
Man, it’s been a busy week. I was hoping to do an update a day, but I just haven’t had the time.
I don’t really get into the patriotic stuff too much. Although I love my country, I feel our politics are totally messed up. That’s a story for another day.
Another thing I don’t really get into is baseball, I just don’t get much excitement out of it, especially on TV, but when you combine Baseball and Patriotism, well that’s just a perfect storm of disinterest. This video though, is pretty amazing.
The story behind it is basically this, it was "Disability Awareness Day" at Fenway Park (June 30, 2007). They had a kid with with Tourette’s Syndrome sing the National Anthem. First off, I have to say, the balls it took for this kid to get out there and sing is amazing, lord knows I sure as hell wouldn’t do it, but that’s actually besides the point. About half way through the anthem, the kid gets a case of the giggles. I honestly expected the crowd to react in a typical manner.. laugh, make fun of him, whatever… but what happens is amazing in my book. Just watch the video, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
It actually made happy to see this.
